In order to make the “Manhattan” project a reality, a body had been created in 1988 , namely the Otemachi–Marunouchi–Yurakucho District Redevelopment Project Council. This body still exists, and in 2012 its members comprised some 70 landowners in OMY , 17 observers and 9 special members. It is a private-sector grouping whose aim is to draft redevelopment plans for OMY .
There are many full-time jobs that pay less than half of that figure, especially positions held by workers at earlier stages of their careers. For the many dual-income households of young, child-bearing-age couples who already make less than 9.1 million yen a year, expanding the free high school availability to wealthier families doesn’t create a smoother path to parenthood. Under the current system, Tokyo families with a household income of under 9.1 million yen are exempt from tuition fees for public high schools, while those earning more must pay. In 2024, however, the income condition will be removed, making public high school free for all Tokyo families. Residential in nature, north Tokyo is generally less travelled by tourists.

One of the biggest landmarks in the area is Tokyo’s Imperial Palace that sits in the heart of the busy financial district. Many Tokyo visitors arrive to the city via Tokyo Station, so depending on your travel plans it might be the first place you will get to see in the Japanese capital. Finding a hospital or clinic that speaks your mother tongue can be hard in Japan, especially in times of emergencies. If you are not confident with your Japanese, it is a good idea to look for the nearest hospital that offers multilingual services in advance. Some other famous tourist spots in the Koto ward are Fukagawa Edo Museum, Kiba Metropolitan Park, Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome, Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, and Ageha nightclub. As I mentioned above, it is enormous and takes more time to visit. Please keep in mind that you consider a few hours to spend here to see this museum.

Planning a trip to Tokyo can be challenging for first-time visitors, especially when they realize just how large and spread out everything is. Instead of thinking of Tokyo as one huge city, it’s way better to break it down by its distinct wards and districts. Serves most domestic flights, and expansions since 2010 have led to it serving an increasing number of international flights, primarily on routes with heavy business traffic. The geography of central Tokyo is defined by the JR Yamanote Line . The center of Tokyo — the former area reserved for the Shogun and his samurai — lies within the loop, while the Edo-era oldtown (下町 shitamachi) is to the north and east. Sprawling around in all directions and blending in seamlessly are Yokohama, Kawasaki and Chiba, Tokyo's suburbs. Together, the entire metropolitan area has a population of over 40 million, making it the most populated urban area in the world.

WiFi services are probably not convenient for those just visiting. 24-hour comic book library/internet cafes known as manga kissa, are common in Tokyo. This is one of the cheapest ways to crash if you miss your last train and need to wait for the early morning transit service to get started. No bed, but you have a comfy chair and a PC and/or DVDs if you can't sleep. Later in the evening, karaoke boxes often offer discounted prices for the whole night, they usually have a couch you can sleep on.
