From 1913 until 1930, Baume & Marpent’s Cairo workshops forged all the steel frames for Company hangars, workshops, garages, and warehouses at Port Fuad and Port Tewfik. The archives contain detailed and regular correspondence between the Algerian branch and the main office in Paris, revealing the company’s strategies for success in a lively construction market.
