Several ferries per day depart for Green Island from Fugang Harbor just north of Taitung City. You can pre-order your scooter here for pick-up when you arrive. The hot spring is accessed on the remote Southern Cross-Island Highway . After an hour’s drive along the highway from Chishang, you’ll need to park and follow a steep downhill trail for 90 minutes. Hayashi Department Store is a historic multi-story building with restored 1930s architecture, offering various goods for sale and an eatery. Established in 1932 by Japanese businessman Hayashi, it was the second-largest department store in Taiwan at the time. The building has been designated as a city heritage site and underwent renovation in 2013, preserving historic features from colonial times. It is a very interesting place that should be visited by everyone.
