In Taitung City, there are several cute little restaurants and craft beer bars at Railway Art Village. The small Taitung Night Market (台東觀光夜市) takes place in front of Sheraton Hotel from Thursday to Saturday. On Highway 11, Dulan has the biggest concentration of restaurants. We enjoyed the fish & chips and wave-shaped shaved ice at Taitung Tea House (台澢號). You can find some craft beer at Dulan Sugar Factory.
The grilled oysters, grilled clams, grilled fish, churros and mala crayfish are amazing. ♥️ There were a lot of people on both times I visited. So make sure to bring a stroller if you are bringing a kid along. I would recommend people to go there walking or with a scooter if you don’t want to pay for parking. Most of the people at the market don’t speak English but they will try their best to make you understand. We had a great experience, the locals are really nice.

It is incredibly exhausting to get there and away from it again. Public transportation sucks to say the least. Buses run when they want, times are kept to zero. Better a guided tour, with 2 hours and private bus. You learn something about the history but in the end not really spectacular. Also considers as hill station in Tainan District.
