Economy Grade – This may have large tight knots and the most colour variation, but has the structural integrity of a feature grade floor. Grading by visual methods is just a technique of classifying the boards according to the size and quantity of the characteristics. Boards that have fewer, smaller elements are grouped into one grade, while those that have more, bigger features, are grouped into another grade.

The word “spotted” refers to large spot like features that form on the tree as it sheds its bark in strips.
