Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual will have you up and running in no time.
best cheap robot vacuum comes with the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you precisely what the robot has done, where it is going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank by itself by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend however we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the newest version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for washing manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry mess. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to reach under low-profile furniture, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a fantastic feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a good way of keeping your home clean for longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings on offer which include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with many functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is well designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
