The Best Robot Hoover

The most effective robot hoover will mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detectors) are positives.

Be sure to regularly examine the brushes of your robot for hair tangled and large debris, and wash them when required. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in a larger bin at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've examined. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also come with the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the competition. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. If you're willing with a little more noise and some additional cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with how dirty they tend to be.

If you have a larger home, it's worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would think from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

robot vacuum cleaner amazon is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It is equipped with a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
