Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station features a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad.
robot cleaner amazon increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for a pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also has a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile which makes it an ideal choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from excessive back-and forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It does have a number of features that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a useful method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning process, and there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can even extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
