The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to get rid of mopping off their list of tasks. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to navigate into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one motion. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as good. The mop rotates at a high rate and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and works well. However, if
auto vacuum cleaner are buying this robot vacuum solely to mop you must pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.
Another feature worth mentioning is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and carpets.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to remember that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. This includes the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that sends it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes microfiber pads. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture many of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels were low and there were nice jingles to inform you that it was starting and getting its work done.
Its main drawbacks were its simplistic app and the necessity to swap out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it has some unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock, which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base has a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it gets caught in a hazard like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert on its app.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
