DRX Challengers sweep Genji Global Academy with a devastating performance.

DRX defeated Genji in the second round of the LCKCL Summer on April 18 at WDG Esports Studio in Jung-gu, Seoul. It was a good performance that continued the recent good trend. After destroying the nexus in the first 20 minutes of both the first and second sets, DRX continued their sweep of the second round.

The first game started with a big advantage on the DRX top side. Lee "Frog" Min-ho, playing Rumble, was ganked by his opponent, but he calmly capitalized on his opponent's mistake and picked up a reverse kill. In the bottom lane, Seo "Duckdam" Dae-gil, playing Apellios, and Son "Fleta" Min-woo, playing 토토 Lakan, showed good chemistry and got a duo kill. With the initiative on top and bottom in hand, DRX took the first dragon while also winning the battle to widen the gap.

Despite suffering a loss on the second dragon timing, DRX continued to build on their advantage, and on the first herald timing, Seo "Dae-gil" Seo unleashed a burst of firepower with Apellios, which they used to secure a one-hit victory. With a gold lead of nearly 5,000, DRX then cruised to the Baron and dominated the final battle, destroying the nexus in 24 minutes to take the first set.

In game two, DRX continued their dominance. Song "Setap" Kyung-jun, who plays Azir, took the initiative in the mid lane to give his team a comfortable lead, and despite giving up the first dragon, he eventually got the first kill in the mid lane. Putting pressure on their opponents based on the lopsided growth differential of Song's Azir, DRX erased their variables by taking the next dragon right away.

Speeding up the operation even further by taking out the mid and bottom primary turrets simultaneously instead of giving up the messenger, DRX continued to chip away at their opponent with small-scale engagements to widen the gap. On the third dragon timing, the snowball rolled even faster, with the victory coming on the strength of Seodae-gil's play on Tristana. They finished off the first Baron right away and pushed straight in with their buffs, destroying the nexus and closing out the game in 22 minutes.
