Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one session without the need to change devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For example, you can choose to have the robot clean up the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models cannot. The only drawback is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model.
automatic vacuum has an enhanced suction power which allows it to pick up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using pads. In addition the X40 is extremely quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to reach under furniture that is low-profile making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It will also tell you if the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It does have a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's a wealth of settings available which include the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are numerous features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
