Baccarat is a game that has existed since at least the 15th century. In Spain, it was known as Patanero which translates to "three cards." The history of the game Baccarat are believed to be all the way to the beginning of Italy.

Baccarat has been used in casinos since the 16th century, however, its roots appear to be in France. It is believed that the game was invented in Italy, where it became popularly known as Baccarat.
