Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to cut down on the frequency of hoovering manually. Find one that has good navigation, can sweep corners and stairs and also has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only once in a while.

There are models that mop and charge themselves this is an option important for families with children or pets. A majority of the top performers in our tests have great ability to overcome obstacles.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ an excellent choice for people who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually when it is full.

Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could be stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. Battery life is about an hour and a half of continuous usage. It takes 3 hours to charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot through the app or via voice.

In our testing the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. smart robot over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines, move itself around the room, and even vacuum an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for many households and can fit perfectly next to the coffee table or a bookshelf where you can move it around like the magic wand.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and pick up large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes that can be adapted to suit the task. It is able to quickly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.

This model has a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also gives the ability to connect two attachments and the Wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its sluggish run time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a typical, not an exceptional, run time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. It's enough time to clean the typical home but not enough to reach every area. (A second run generally works). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's a great option for those who don't want to spend too much on a robotic. It was able to remove the majority of types of debris in our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times to ensure an efficient clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice feature.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. This means that it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it often will run out of battery before making it back to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.

smart robot X8 is a slick RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, as it has a longer battery life, can change its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and performs better on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a brand you see on all sorts of electronic gadgets for your home It's no surprise that they're also one of the most popular robotic vacuum and mop makers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior customization, docking frequency settings, and more. It's easy to understand and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller items like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models that we tested, and this could be a deal breaker for some shoppers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible via the app, and you can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to keep track of your pets or the kids if you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned for the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean and tidy station that self-empties and helps keep the robot's dustbin clean and optimizes suction power for each cleaning run.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Unlike other robotic vacuums, that are made for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They come with a wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds twice as much debris than the competition to keep the area free of debris for the longest period of time. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers to clean up around edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which senses the presence of dirt or debris on the surface and automatically adjusts the power level. It also comes with a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and then send it to the dock for charging at the click of a button. The app also lets you to personalize the LED lights on top of the vacuum by using different colors so you can easily tell which areas it's focused on or where it's stuck.

The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot should you need to. My living room rug for example has a dark-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
