Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

While robots aren't able to replace a traditional vacuum for picking up dirt-in particles like metal screws and pieces of orzo pasta, they're great in sweeping dust, crumbs and pet hair. The most effective models come with smart navigation technology, which can help them avoid cords, toys and other household obstacles.

The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing surface debris when compared to other robovacs we've reviewed, but it is not the best in cleaning edges and corners. It's also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It moved chairs away from walls, and made some collisions with the sides of our bed, and also became stuck on cords and toys while testing.

The only snag is that it's a little louder than other models we test and it doesn't do as well in our owner satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.

The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin that is 770ml, which means you don't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute run time is also generous when contrasted with other 2-in-1 robots we tested. When the battery is running low, it automatically returns to its dock where it recharges before resuming cleaning where it began. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and also use voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

This is one of the first robots we've seen to incorporate 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations, helped it perform exceptionally well in our vacuuming tests and mopping tests. It did a decent job of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning test however, it had trouble with thicker pile carpets and rugs. It is able to raise the mop pad automatically whenever it comes in contact with carpet. This is an excellent feature for those who wish to save the time of mopping their carpets.

The iMop has an onboard dustbin as well as a water tank, which it emptys at the end of every cleaning session. The dust bin can hold up to 2.5 Liters and only has to be cleaned every two cleaning cycles. The water tank can handle half a dozen mopping session before it is empty. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than the standard robot vacuum, which could be a major selling point for busy families.
