The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

auto vacuum reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to take mopping off their to-do list. Some have great mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through cleaning.

It is very quick and does a great job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective however, this is something that you'll need to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase an efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and efficiently. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also rapid.

best budget robot vacuum can reach many surfaces. This includes corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-and-forth or slightly more random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of innovative features. However, it's important to note that it incurs periodic expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

The robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. These include the power button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. It's a top-performing device, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is capable of vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two parts that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which has an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up pet hair. It was able to collect a large amount of hair that shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some nice jingles to signal that it was in the process of getting its work done.

Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the requirement to switch between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that is capable of mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock, which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.

The base comes with a few control buttons, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognising objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This is a rare event, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
