The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping and robot vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to take mopping off their to-do list. They have impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and poop with ease. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever used. It doesn't make the same amount of noise while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and performs well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum solely to mop you must be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home, detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and methodically. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively quick.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surface areas. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen odors.

Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the amount of suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also adjust the number of passes it will make, which will determine how fast the device will move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

The device comes with a expensive price, but comes with a large selection of advanced features. It is important to note that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every three to six months.

The robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' and a 'Home button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two parts, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. made a post was its accurate floorplan map, which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which help to keep certain areas of your home from being swept with mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect many of the hair our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots had struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too simple and you had to change the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some distinct features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning job or recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Press two of the buttons to toggle a child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognizing objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for a market dominated by clunky boxy models.
