Magic Items
A character can upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade plan has been canceled, no further upgrades will be offered for the item. Magic items that are upgraded will cost twice the amount of gold they normally cost to make or purchase, but they can also have extra advantages.
A magical item is any item that has special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, however some are also shields, armor, cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other items. Some of these items have a sense of being.
Most magic items can be upgraded so that they are equipped with additional capabilities. This makes them more useful to players, or could help them conquer any difficult situation. A weapon that is infused with an ingredient that is unique could, for instance, provide an extra level of damage to a particular type of enemy. This is especially useful for characters who have reached the level where they're likely to face one kind of monster over and over again in dungeons.
A ring infused with magic may give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon, pierce, or slash (excluding attacks that are silvered) until the character is given a second rest. This is especially beneficial for melee martial characters or any other character who wishes to avoid the expense and hassle of buying shields.
Certain items with enchanted properties have special abilities which allow the character to cast spells in addition to those listed on the list of spells for their class. This can be useful for characters who have trouble filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use them, and the spell cast is determined by rolling an array of tables determined by the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other enchanted objects might permit the character's appearance to be changed or create a completely new one. They can be especially useful for characters who have had to leave their homes, or are in a place where they may not be welcome. An item that is magical can give them an invisible effect, or even make them invisible to all other than a selected person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that do not fall under the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and have a range of different capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons and Clothing, no utility item is able to be in conflict with another. Most utility items have a passive effect that the player can activate by using them, but some have additional abilities that are activated when the user presses the button or activates a skill.
The most popular type of utilitarian item is the Flashlight that is used to illuminate the surrounding area. Other useful items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can create instantly a variety of useful items, while others are unlocked by Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.

Most utility items enhance a specific combat attribute or provide the player with some kind of navigation advantage. Sharpening stones, crafted by the Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other items that are useful can be used by players to increase Damage or Condition Damage.
