The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities abroad and was doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. Toto saw North America as a growth market for Washlet's bidets and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.

After Toto IV The band's fortunes took a turn towards the negative. David Hungate left the band to focus on his solo career. The band had several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in the after he was charged with drug abuse. the group continued to perform as a trio with Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.

Despite the turmoil, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation that was not as successful as IV. The group managed to release a chart-topping album, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album was the last of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new vocalist.

The band has performed to millions of fans across the world, with sold-out shows across Europe, North America and Asia and also Australia and New Zealand. Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet format of previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more edgy sound of the album was indicative of the maturation of group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's greater virtuosity on drums, and a more mature, confident vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate and less cloying than earlier performances.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded an Amsterdam live concert that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released a brand new studio album a few months later, and went on a world tour to help promote it. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich & Lukather began searching through old tapes & demos to find songs that had never been recorded prior to. It was completed as a double-album titled Then And Now in 2001. It was the band's first album that did not contain a single song titled "A". The album also contained a previously unreleased track titled "Kari-Anne".

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also had a guest appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
