A highly-rated and highly-functional Gen 4 robot vacuum and mop that takes a fresh approach to design The Freo X Ultra is a well-built machine. The price of $1400 could be a bit steep, but it is often on sale to make it more affordable. The unit is beautiful and the base station occupies very little space in the corner of an area.
The design of this robot addresses the issues we've faced with other robotic mop and vacuum cleaners, such as brushes that get tangled up in hair, and the vacuum brush not being able to reach the bare flooring underneath furniture. The sweeping performance is also impressive on carpets and bare flooring. The vacuum/mop unit has an excellent level of debris pickup, and the mop is able to saturate bare floors quickly.
The mops also use an intelligent system to clean around the edges of walls and around furniture. The robot is able to effortlessly avoid obstacles such as food bowls, toys, and backpacks. It is able to get tangled or entangled with smaller, less hefty objects such as shoelaces, USB cable and pen.
This robot was used to mop and vacuum hardwood floors FLOR carpet tiles as well as pile rugs in a huge open-plan house. With FREO Mind enabled, it vacuumed and mopped a 90m2 area in about 170 minutes which is about average for Gen 4.

Miele Scout RX3
Miele is a name synonymous with quality and innovation in the field of robotic vacuuming. This new model aims to take it to the next level by incorporating smart features and top-notch cleaning performance.
The RX3 comes with dual suction smart navigation system that incorporates 3D mapping, and a camera that sends live images to your smartphone for effortless control. The RX3's four-stage system offers excellent dust collection on carpets and hard floors. Side brushes that can be swung out with dual suction channels, and easy-to-use controls keep corners clean. The 8.5 cm height lets it fit under furniture with ease, while front cameras and infrared sensors assist it navigate obstacles and thresholds easily.
The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test on how well it was able to clean baking powder around corners and baseboards. Its 2,500Pa suction was weaker than other robots but it was still very silent and moved swiftly. It didn't mop, and its clean pad was a challenge to attach. It also was unable to handle dried-on dirt.
Its app isn't equipped with advanced features, such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa, but its voice controls aren't precise or responsive. Also, it's a bit flaky when it comes to navigating its way back to the charging station following a run other robots are able to trace a previous path or even follow a wall until they reach their destination however, the RX3 is a fumbler until it quits and sends a message of failure to your phone.
We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, namely its mapping feature as well as digital stay-out zones. While it did a good job of keeping away from our furniture legs and shoes however, it was easily caught by socks and cables, and it was not able to manage the tassels that adorn carpets. We didn't include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and a dazzling performance. It's worth looking into as an alternative to traditional uprights.
