While robots can't replace a traditional vacuum in picking up dirt-in particles like metal screws and chunks of orzo pasta, they're excellent in sweeping dust, crumbs and pet hair. It could do this for 77 minute on one cleaning, before the battery ran out.

The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums we have tested, has a self emptying bin that automatically dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. This reduces hands-on maintenance and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still needs to be manually empty after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L, which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.

Like the i7model, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores a single map while the i7 is able to store multiple maps. The i7 also has the ability to use its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, however the i3+ EVO is not able to do this.

The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing surface debris compared to some other robovacs we've looked at, but it's not the best in cleaning edges and corners. It is also less gentle on furniture, despite being remarkably quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls, and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and also became stuck on cords and toys during testing.
