Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you could opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks are required like emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around them, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is striking and has only three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin is auto-filling.
The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for washing manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track battery life. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another notable characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture with a low profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is intuitive and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It is also possible to alter suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
budget robot vacuum is easy to keep clean and has numerous features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has several characteristics that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa.
budget robot vacuum is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature since it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. They can be set through the app or there are direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with many functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
