1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it clean quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our top option. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross-contamination.
robot vacuum reviews can be used to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards.
robot vacuum cleaners reviews 's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models from the rivals. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on the degree of dirt they tend to be.
For larger homes, it's worth opting for one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home using the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Additionally a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to set up the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
