The side panel that slides out of the crib can be raised and lowered by a simple push of a single button. This makes it simple to reach inside and soothe a crying baby at night. It also comes with 11 height adjustments that let it accommodate the mattress of nearly any size bed. It also includes adjustable folding feet to ensure it's placed at just the right level.

The cot is cushioned and features mesh sides for better the airflow, and the mattress is made of high-density, foam for extra protection. It is also wipeable, so you can keep the cot clean. It includes a fitted bed sheet that is suitable for the crib.

The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for beds, is compatible with most beds including divans. This is because of the clips and straps which connect to it. Anna discovered that it was sturdy and secure after being affixed to her bed. The legs slid into place and the zippers were secure for safety. It's also more flexible than its predecessor with 11 different height levels and feet that retract to installation under any bed.

Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel, which can be moved upwards and downwards with just one click of a switch. This was an enormous help during feeding times at night, as it meant they could reach into and pick up their baby without disturbing them.

The side panel can be lowered by itself however it isn't advised as it increases the chance of your child falling out of the cot. The patented safety locking system ensures that the side panel will only remain in place if it's connected correctly to the mattress of the parent. This is a wonderful feature to have for peace mind, particularly when you're breastfeeding and need frequent nighttime feedings.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be a perfect fit for any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers thanks to the legs that telescopic. It also comes with an option to tilt for reflux babies and a rocking mode to bring them back to sleep after eating. It's also incredibly spacious and provides excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.

The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects, even with the lengthy instruction manual. It is a little heavier than other side-sleepers, but it's easily moved from one place to another. It's also small enough to fit in a travel bag when not in use, which is an advantage when you have to transport it. The only drawback our test subjects found was that the side panel did not flex as much as some of the other models, making it a little harder to see your baby from your own bed.


The Shnuggle Air

If you're looking for an ideal bedside crib that can grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth considering. It's a crib for co-sleeping that can be attached securely to your bed and can be turned into a stylish cot once your baby is old enough. It is ideal for feeding your baby at night and enhancing the bond you have with your baby's new.

The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other cribs. The mesh side panels with dual-view as well as the airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable allow for maximum airflow, keeping your baby comfortable and cool. The gentle slope helps ease reflux and colic. The zip-down side allows you to feed your baby, or even comfort them during the night.

During our testing we noticed the smooth motion of this next-to-me crib to be extremely beneficial in getting babies to sleep after feedings at night and midday. The drop-down side is also accessible to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night this was a huge benefit for our exhausted test mothers. The Joie Roomie Glide is a modern and stylish crib that doesn't rock, or have extra features such as the sound machine.
