It had a difficult time when it encountered longer-pile carpets, and there were a few large, thick piles of dried-on debris.

Like many robots like it, the S1 Pro comes ready to take off from the box and needs only the initial mapping run to get it used to your home. The map will be displayed in the app, and you can add or join rooms as you need to. You can also set up virtual boundaries, no-go zones and no-mop zones if you don't want the robot to get into certain items.
