In terms of safety the cot is cushioned and fitted with mesh sides to provide more ventilation, while its mattress is made of high-density foam for additional protection. It is also wipeable which means you can keep the cot clean. It comes with a fitted mattress sheet that is suitable for a crib.
The Roomie Glide, unlike some other bedside cribs is compatible with all beds including divans. This is because of the straps and clips that attach it. It can also be used as a standalone crib when it's not connected to the bed.

The Roomie Glide is available to purchase from John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna felt was an affordable cost for a cot that has such innovative features. She also liked the way it looked in the bedroom and thought that the grey shade is a good fit for modern homes. She did mention that it's not an ideal idea to rock a baby when it's younger as it could create an unfavourable sleep pattern for later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning crib for bed designed with a secure night's rest in mind. It comes with a drop-side rail that can be easily lowered to feed your child at night without disturbing them or forcing them out of the bed. This is perfect for breastfeeding mothers! It is also lightweight and easy to move around during nap time or for travel.
It's made of soft material and has breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It's available in charcoal and oak and has a variety of melange fabric options that blend well with most decor styles. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when affixed to her bed with the legs firmly snapping into place and the zips secure to ensure safety for babies. It took her about 10 minutes to assemble and did not require tools, and comes with clear instructions and a video as well as a customer support number available if you have any issues.
The CoZee crib comes with all the features you'd expect from a crib for your bedside, including the ability to attach it to your existing bed using a stay-in place connection system. It also has six height settings. In addition it has an incline feature that can be used to help babies suffering from reflux or congestion. It's also machine-washable, a must with all the dribble and vomit that comes with having a baby!
The CoZee is an excellent choice if you want to keep your child close during the first six months of learning to sleep independently. It can be used as a changing station, cot or toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa-bed extension kit, it can be transformed into a crib. It won't feed your baby or magically put them to sleep, it will rock them to send them off!
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco’s more expensive alternatives. However, it has numerous great features. It's designed as a side sleeper or standalone crib, and is suitable from birth up to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel with a brand new mechanism. It's also more flexible than the predecessor, with 11 different height settings and retractable legs for a secure fit underneath any bed.
Our testers loved the ease of access provided by the side panel that can be moved up and down with one click of a button. This was particularly helpful at night, as they could reach inside and pick their baby up without disturbing them up.
The side panel can be lowered by itself, too however it isn't advised as it increases the chance of your child falling out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism ensures that it can only stay down when attached to the bed properly.

The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects, even with the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers but it's still very mobile and can be moved from room to room with ease. It's also able to fold into a travel bag which is great if you want to transport it. The only negative our testers have found is that the side panel didn't flex as much compared to other models. This made it a bit harder to observe your baby from the bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're in search of a bedside crib that will grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth looking into. It's a crib for co-sleeping that can be attached securely to your bed and can be converted into a stylish cot once your baby is old enough. It is ideal for feeding your baby at night and strengthening the bond between you and your baby's new.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other cribs. The mesh side panels with dual-view as well as the airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable allow for maximum airflow, keeping your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline option helps to ease colic and reflux and colic, while the zip-down side makes it easy to feed or soothe your baby at night.
The kit for conversion to cot (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you need to start. Overall, it was a straightforward procedure and the quality of materials used was high.

In the co-sleeping position, we found the Shnuggle Air to be an ideal choice for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section as it allows them to comfortably reach out to their baby to feed and comfort them without having to climb out of their bed. It's a great option for parents who do not want to go through the hassle of putting their baby in a traditional cot, or even getting them out of it.
During our testing we noticed the smooth motion of this next-to-me crib to be particularly beneficial in lulling babies back to sleep after feedings at midday and in the evening. The drop-down side can be accessible to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night, which was a real benefit for our exhausted test moms. While it doesn't rock or have extra features like an audio system the Joie Roomie Glide's sleek design and functional features are a welcome addition our top bedside crib reviews.
