Obtaining Your Driving License A1
A driver's license is an important document which permits you to drive. You must attend a driving school and pass both written and physical tests.

A1 is the first category of driving license that allows you to drive a motorbike up to 125 cc and 11 kW. If you're over 24 years old, you can obtain an A category full licence.
Training
The first step of your motorcycle journey is to obtain your driving license A1. You will need to complete a basic course of 17 hours of instruction before you can sit for your theory test and practical driving test. You can complete your driving training at a driving school or ongoing driver training centre and also with private trainers.
During the training you will be taught the rules of the road and how to operate your bike safely. You will also be able to practice riding your bike and develop your handling skills prior to taking the tests. After passing the theory test, you must pass the practical A1 test that is administered by an approved tester. The A1 motorcycle test is split into two parts: a theory test and an actual test. Both tests are conducted on the same day.
The theory test consists of 20 multiple-choice answers. Only two incorrect answers are required to pass. The theory test is an automated test that is administered by the testing center. You can prepare for your theory test by studying the Highway Code. You should also practice answering examples of questions prior to taking the actual test.
After passing the test in theory, you are able to book your practical A1 test. You can then begin getting ready for the practical test by familiarising yourself with the highway code, and by practicing riding manoeuvres like hill starts and lane changes. The practical test is divided into Module 1 and Module 2
Module 1 is a module that focuses on off road manoeuvres. You will be tested to see whether you are able to perform an uncontrolled U turn and an emergency stop. You will then be required to execute a series of controlled road manoeuvres including a figure of eight as well as an incline ride. You will then have to demonstrate a keen eye and be aware of road dangers.
After you have passed your driving test a1, you can move up to the A2 category for driving licences. This is only possible after you have held your A1 driving licence for at least two years.
Licensing requirements
If you're a student, you may have to attend training at a driving school in order to obtain a licence for category A1. You'll also have to pass the theory test as well as the practical test. Once you've passed both the tests, you'll be able to apply for a license through your local council. You'll be charged a fee to use this service.

You will also be required to show your ability to ride a motorcycle with a passenger.

It is fully compatible with the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic and therefore valid in all member states. Certain older licenses like the booklet and credit card-style ones, are still used occasionally. However, they are becoming less common.
Before you can obtain an license, you'll be required to pass two tests that you can take on private roads and public roads if you are a new driver. You'll also need to complete skid and risk training. You'll also be required to take a medical exam by a doctor. Afterward, you'll need to submit an official certificate of satisfactory completion from the COSEVI.
