Keyless Entry
The days of putting keys into locks are slowly disappearing and the majority of new cars come with keyless entry. You can unlock your vehicle by pressing the button on the fob or grasping the door handle. This lets you keep your hands free and not need to dig around in your bag to find keys.
The system works by the car sending out the radio signal, which is received by the key fob, which then sends a response signal back to the car. This is then recognized by the vehicle and it will usually either unlock the doors or turn on the interior lighting (if it is programmed to do this).
Certain variations of keyless entry don't use any kind of fob, instead using an app on a smartphone which can send an electronic signal directly to the car. This is also known as a phone-as key, or a digital-key. It can be an excellent method to let other drivers access your vehicle without having to hand over the keys.
It is important to remember that keyless entry systems can't be guaranteed, and there have been reports of people who had their cars stolen with this technology. Secure-A-Key is an anti-theft device that you can connect to your key fob. This will turn off the battery of your remote control when it's not moved for a period of minutes, making it less likely to be stolen from the vehicle.
Start and Exit System
Skoda offers a variety of features designed to make life easier whether you're returning home in a muddy football jacket or a wet bag. This includes an innovative double-sided boot mat in the Karoq that's composed of fabric on one side and plastic on the other, which protects the floor when it gets wet or dirty.
The modern keyless entry systems, also referred to as KESSY control units have an additional layer of security built-in to protect your car. The system ensures that the correct key is used to turn on the engine and, if it is not the immobilizer is activated. This blocks different actions to stop the car from starting, such as disabling the fuel pump, ignition coil or injectors.
You'll notice a warning light on your dashboard in the event that the immobilizer has been activated. This is a serious problem and you should consult a specialist for a diagnosis.
The most modern keyless entry system is protected by a range of sensors which include a door handle sensor. This is placed within the two front doors and waits for a trigger like the insertion of the key or pressing a button on the tailgate. If the trigger is detected by the car's control system, it will unlock the doors and begin the engine. The Kodiaq, Superb, Octavia and Enyaq have similar systems known as Area View that uses cameras to display different views of the immediate surroundings on your car's monitor.
Remote Control Window Winding
If the window winding on your skoda key isn't functioning correctly, it could be due to a bad switch or faulty motor. If the switch is the problem you can use a multimeter to check the continuity of the ground and power cables that connect to the motor. Ideally, you should get power to both when you press the switch. If not, it's likely that the switch is malfunctioning.
If you're unable to resolve the issue, it's best to contact an auto electrician to get help. They should be able to repair the window winding on your Skoda Octavia and ensure that everything is in good functioning order. You can also contact an auto dealer in your area to discuss the issue.
Electric windows function the same as manual windows, but they are powered by a motor that turns them up and down instead of a handle. The motor is connected through two circuits to the window switches: one switch position, and the circuit, drive it one way (window up) and the second switch position, and the circuit, drive it in the opposite direction (window down). The switch contacts are wired to the power supply which is then connected to a motor to do the actual winding. A large plate has gear teeth carved into it and the motor rotates an gear that engages these teeth when the window is raised. When the window is dropped and the gear is released and the handle is able to move freely.
Multi-function steering wheel
Many functions have been moved to the steering wheel, away from the console and dashboard to allow you to keep both your hands on the wheel, while keeping your eyes on the road. Radio controls cruise control, cruise control and several other features are integrated into the steering wheel, an intelligent approach that improves car safety for both the driver and the passengers.
The new two-spoke steering wheel made its debut in the fourth generation of the OCTAVIA and is currently used on almost all SKODA models. It's modern, stylish, and ergonomic and can be customized to suit your needs including a three-spoke version.
"We wanted to keep the center of the steering wheel as clean as possible in order to make the logo stand out and to avoid a feeling of clutter," says designer Marwan Khiat. The steering wheel has 14 buttons that control the vehicle's functions. All of them are clearly marked. They can be operated with one click, making it simple to use, without taking the driver's hands off the wheel.

It's a small detail but it makes a difference. The umbrella will be waiting for you when you open the door. When you are driving the umbrella will stay clear of your path and will not cross the way. It's just one of the many clever features that show how much thought goes into the design of a Skoda.
