UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors wear out over time and will need to be replaced. When replacing them, it is essential that the new handles conform to the critical dimensions of the old handle.
The three measurements to check are the top screw's location the lever and key hole dimensions. Refer to the size guide for assistance in this.
Inline Lever/Lever

A lever door handle is a modern handle that can be installed on new or replacement doors. This kind of handle is available in various designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The uPVC/Composite handles are made of tough materials and are ideal for doors with multiple points that require a strong design. The handles are inline and operate with the same spindle as well as screw fixings so they are easily installed on doors made of uPVC/Composite, either new or old.
The handle can be positioned and angled to suit any user. The handle has been tested to 200 000 cycles. This ensures that the finish is of high quality and performance over time. The sprung lever can be reduced to accommodate more locks. This is especially useful for doors with narrower frames, where the cylinder is located further back. A shorter lever is an excellent option for doors that have latches that can be opened by a thumb turn located on the inside.
Lever Pad
A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently to the lever type handles found on most doors. These handles are operated by a single spindle or by two spindles, either inline or offset. They are generally employed on UPVC double glazed doors. They come in a variety of styles and styles.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes, including White Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with the best performance and long-lasting durability for its intended purpose.
All UPVC levers for handles include a spindle and screws, and can be fitted on the uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixing centres allow for a larger size handle that can often be a benefit in replacing a defective or worn multi point door lock mechanism. These levers for handles are also spring-loaded, which solves the issue of handles hanging out of the horizontal position when not in use.
When selecting the replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is important to match the dimensions of the PZ on the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement may also be referred to as 'handle centres or cylinder centre'. It is important to match the correct handles.
After you have determined the correct size of PZ it is important to make sure that the push and lever pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. They are typically round or square with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads that we sell are spring-loaded. This means they return to a horizontal position after not in use instead of hanging, and possibly securing to the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from getting into a house. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles are available in left and right handed models that allow them to be placed on either side of the doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. The cylinder lock operates with a key that unlocks the cylinder case.
linked here is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to those inside the lock, and permit them to turn the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder you choose is crucial. It's dependent on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. External doors, for example are required to be fitted with higher security cylinders and doors inside can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. In addition, some cylinders come with additional features that can improve security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to the end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable to measure with the lock in position, you can remove it. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, therefore it is important that it is not too long.
The design of most newer cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a new direction. This will help to deflect the attack and keep your doors safe.
Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock, and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and easier way to gain access than a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which can hinder insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is positioned within the base of the door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their rest position after use. The handles had no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was removed. This simple part is the best way to address this issue. It also helps prevent your upvc door from becoming stuck in either the closed or open position, as they are difficult to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks, they will not fit unsprung multipoint handles and you will need to have a hole specifically cut in your backplate in order for them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a solution to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are fitted with a square cut-out that accommodates an 8mm spindle and they are supplied individually.
These spring cassettes provide an excellent value solution to the problem of door handles that have become sagging. They are simple to install and will increase the life of your uPVC door.
