How to Program a MERCEDES Truck Key
Whether you need to replace the battery or your key stopped functioning our parts department will be willing to assist you. Please keep in mind that replacement keys must be ordered and synchronized in the dealership in person. This is to ensure the safety and security of your vehicle. This service can only be requested by you or someone who is authorized to do so.
Keys
Some have claimed that you can change the programming of your Mercedes key. This isn't the case. Once the key is paired, it will not work with any other vehicle. The key has a distinct shape in its metal beam, and the Mercedes system scans for this and only recognizes that particular key. A new blank key from Mercedes is a different shape and won't work with the system.
The dealership must purchase a new, compatible key for your vehicle from Mercedes; they don't keep keys in stock at the parts department. When you pick up your key, you will require the original title, registration number, and the driver's license, passport or identification card. This will help verify that you are the owner of the vehicle and not someone who is trying to steal it.
If you have an authorized representative or delegate to pick up the keys for you, they will need to provide all the above documentation along with a signed and dated letter of authorisation from the owner. The authorized representative or delegate must also bring the vehicle to the dealership to retrieve keys. Contact the dealer if you have any concerns. They'll be glad to help. They will let you know if they have the key available or if they need to make an appointment with Mercedes to receive a new, compatible key for your vehicle.
Remotes
In some MERCEDES models, the remote key has touchscreen that shows virtual buttons. When a button is pressed it transmits infrared signals to control devices. A graphical interface program can be used to program the screen. The "buttons", which appear on the screen are actually images of electronic circuit components. These include capacitors, resistors, inductors, potentiometers, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits and switches.
It may be difficult to unlock the truck if you have locked your keys inside the boot. This is due to the lock cylinder and door of the Mercedes-Benz may be damaged. It is possible to use a rope that has a slip-knot that you can use to tie the lock and then pull it out, however, this method isn't 100% secure. It is possible to contact an emergency roadside assistance or a locksmith to open the truck.
The lower level case is equipped with an opening panel that can be removed to store the batteries. The panel is light brown and has white writing indicating the type of battery that are recommended (UM-4/AAA). It also includes an Plus sign and a Minus sign indent to indicate which direction the coils of the battery should be placed when installing the batteries.
Keyless Entry System
By using a technique known as passive entry and go, SmartKeys with Keyless Go can open or start your vehicle even when the key is not inside. The SmartKeys contain a transponder that allows the vehicle's computer to identify a driver when it detects the key at close range.
truck key copy transmits low-frequency signals that are picked up from both the outside and inside the door handles. If the transmission matches the ID on the PASE module (Passive Access and Security Electronics) the system will allow that the key act as a passkey to operate the vehicle.
These systems are designed to prevent "replay attacks" which allow a hacker to record and replay control signals and use them to gain access to a car or building. To stop this from happening, a specially designed algorithm ensures that every transmission transmitted by the keyfob is different from the previous ones. The PASE module inside the car will detect any attempt by a criminal to record one of these transmissions and then tries to reuse it.
