World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade option lets players boost the gear rating of an item by up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons


Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a unit. In certain instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative effects. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.

The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, it will boost its defense base while a belt and gloves will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reduce its value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item menu with the circling arrows. This will roll the item and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, making it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you will gain from each point. Therefore, item upgrading 's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total and each one requires you to complete a specific side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll require anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it for physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power in the case of Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the player a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by making them on a crafting table or the Alchemist's chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion as well as the item's Rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate unless you use it again or break the bottle within which it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change its name.

There were a few changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron drains the liquid and refills the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effects. The potion table has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to purchasing a new trinket. A player can upgrade a trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the old trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded once the old ones are not needed and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can also be traded between players and are an attractive alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that they will not be replacing in the near future (for example an earring or cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade players should also be aware of the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will receive an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade can destroy the old trinket until it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying a new one.
