World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is used (for instancefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of an item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved following the reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a substantial chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.
In the endgame, you will often find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once
upgrade item have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Using a Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player upgrades an item the original item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a problem because it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll
item upgrade s. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This is a good idea, but shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and weapons) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the player to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
