World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option lets players increase an item's gear rating up 700 points and also add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also reroll the stats of their base. This is usually a good thing, but it can also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make items inaccessible, unless you're extremely lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their stats. In the case of chests or helms this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will get when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the menu for items.
mouse click for source will roll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This makes it easier to navigate difficult terrains. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you can get from every point of health you possess, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as you can.
To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total and each one requires you to complete a specific side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and have completed the fountain in question and then you can talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in cold environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with your comrades.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to work on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use to fight the final boss, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also gain benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades to the helmets and chest armor so that you can sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, give the user an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in an Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading changes depending on what kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade until you take it out again or break the bottle within the container it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For example, splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item). The table of potion now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. This is the same for the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle.
There are also simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an object or ornament that has a purpose but isn't important such as a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets like other items which can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered using tokens, gold, or fragments from trinkets that are rare.
Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying an entirely new one. You can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl of the old one, and will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they are no longer needed and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they won't replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm, and shoulders.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher level once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
