Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective way to upgrade gear. However, they do not retain the level of the original item, and any wasted resources will not be refunded.
Reroll tokens can be obtained by survivors by a variety of means such as the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be located in crates and chests, or purchased from the market at a cost of 150k each. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, while rare upgrades require a unique or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.

Leveling
Leveling is a feature that lets players increase the base stats of weapons armor, helms, and trinkets. It is achieved by adding upgrades at the Upgrade Station, paying a fee in Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The process will consume upgrade components and grant the item an upgrade level, giving the item an additional boost in the area. This process continues until the item is at its highest level.
Items with upgraded base stats display an icon of blue in their slot. Unlike enchantments, however, upgrade components cannot be stacked against each other, and can only be added to one item at a time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a particular number of items to be used and an initial level for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can choose to add an item that they wish to upgrade. On the right side, a preview shows what the gear looks like at its next level. Once players have enough materials by pressing the yellow arrow, it will start the upgrade process.

Once an item reaches the highest level, upgrades are no longer available for it. When a piece of equipment attains a certain upgrade track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer) upgrades to that track will come with a discount.
Upgrade components are a type of equipment that can be put into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to give an additional bonus or effect while the equipment is being used. They can be bought through vendors, looted or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be swapped with new ones. However, this can destroy the old upgrade.

Upgrading an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. Certain upgrade components have additional modifiers that can boost the item's statistics.
For instance, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" boosts the base defense and provides an additional 20% chance to block. Additionally, the dps upgrade "Wildfire" increases damage to weapons.
Certain items are better off being upgraded less because of their improved stats, but for the fact that it lets players get the maximum amount of value from a perfect roll on the item.
