Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can be a great source of additional damage or more AD or even more attachments.

Sometimes, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They increase the effectiveness of the item that they're connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of the game and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternatively, they can also be rescued from items with upgrade components within them by with a professional or higher salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. The ability to absorb damage of an armor piece will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. Casesgg to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it must be more heavy.

There are several different types of armor upgrades available in the game. Each has a different impact. Certain upgrades give armor a greater number of health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below.

Some upgrades are magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is shown by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require a charge to use, which are indicated by an "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades change every day or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to improve your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.

The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to the max upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it will also reduce the speed and agility of the piece. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The boost in defense typically isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of specific aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain firearms have upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces the possibility of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity for greater damage) are two examples.

The majority of upgrades to weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade for applying. These can be obtained by doing side quests, or killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. In the past you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific number of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to an increased rarity. You could continue to do this until you reached the max upgrade level of the weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would reset.

You can still do this, but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to the stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a chance at gaining you the most prestigious perks and blessings.

To improve their skills faster, most players will prioritise upgrading their weapons. In addition to these, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to make them more powerful and effective. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more effective when used with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to boost the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in armor and weapons. They can be created through an process known as jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gemstone and several reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The quality of a gem can be improved by the Jeweler, in stages that range from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts will vary according to the tier that the jewel is at when it is inserted into jewelry, weapons or equipment.

All levels of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a certain level to obtain them. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped by a different jewel of the same kind without destroying it. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.

It is common to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. Apart from improving performance, the jewels create a surface that is harder than metal, so repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the look of your shields and weapons. These are a small perk and are able to be swapped easily however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, cannot be swapped out, and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them with Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets can be used to provide your hero with various small, but valuable, benefits. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, or by performing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but valuable boost to movement speed and evasion. The player can then acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar manner to how they acquired weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be put into any kind of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with certain kinds of trinkets.

These trinkets also provide additional buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not fighting. This enables the hero to perform better when they are not active and may also help to compensate for the absence of a solid team or the absence of any talent tree slots which would normally be filled with hero's ideal stats.

As a general rule trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace anytime soon. Then, you should consider any items that have desirable statistics aren't as important as the iLevel of the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you are looking to upgrade multiple statistics on an item. It's best to upgrade just one crucial stat instead of two subpar ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand will pick either a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices can affect the ability of a hero to control the map.

In addition to the items mentioned above, players will also find other trinkets that form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story, such as finishing a chapter's main quest or destroying a boss. These can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
