World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The item upgrade feature allows players to upgrade their equipment. This can be done through any upgrader of items NPC.
Generally upgrades increase an items main stat and can give it extras depending on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential factor in keeping him safe from harm. Although it isn't upgraded like weapons, you can still enhance its defense capabilities in various ways.
The fundamental idea behind armour is to protect the person or animal from harm or injury whether from physical assault or from an array of dangers to the environment or activity. In the past, most armour was made of fabric or leather, but metal protections were also employed particularly for military purposes such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.
Like weapons there are a myriad of ways that armor can be upgraded, however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique degree of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection and requiring a higher cost in rupees and materials to unlock.
The first thing you need to know about Armor Upgrades is that they are permanent upgrades and after they've been put in place, they can't be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the most effective level of upgrades to your gear and that you have enough of the necessary materials to complete them.
You can find the upgrades you require in a variety locations throughout Hyrule. These include merchants, shrines and even enemies. These are usually marked by the blue triangle or gold circle symbol and are found in huge numbers as you progress. They could appear randomly, however there is a chance that getting certain upgrades can trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.
It's also worth noting that although the level of protection offered by each upgrade varies but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a strong defense boost that will protect against any kind of attack, except magic. This makes it a formidable weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you're looking to make your guns distinctive, you can upgrade them by utilizing a variety of unique upgrades. These upgrades can boost damage or alter the performance of the weapon in accordance with your particular build. They can also unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, various types of ammunition, as well as aesthetic options.
You'll require both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon should be at or near a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons can only take one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components can be found all over the world, from enemies or from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are made up of ingredients that can be slotted into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to grant an attribute bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They require that the equipment be of a certain level to be able to take the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes.

Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.
Prioritize upgrading your best-in slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you won't replace soon. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your chest, shoulders hands, feet, and hands if you plan to play an asymmetrical build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. But, depending on your playstyle, some procs will be more useful than others.

Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one item of magic. If an upgrade plan has been canceled, no further upgrades will be offered for that item. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the amount of gold it would cost to create or purchase however they may offer additional advantages.
A magical item can be any item with special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they can also be armors, shields and cloaks, as well as potions. They can also be rings, scrolls, or other items. Some of these items may be made to speak.
Most magical items can be upgraded to become equipped with additional capabilities. This makes them more useful to a player, or it could help them conquer an especially difficult challenge. A weapon infused with some special substance could, for instance, provide an extra level of damage to a particular kind of enemy. This is especially useful for those who have reached the point where they are likely to face a single type of monster in the dungeons.
A ring infused by magic could give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon or pierce or cut (excluding silvered attacks) until the character gets another long rest. This is especially useful for melee fighters or any person who wishes to avoid purchasing an armor.
Some enchanted items have special powers that allow the character to cast spells in addition to those on the list of spells for their class. This is a great benefit for characters that have difficulties filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items that are enchanted generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use them, and the spell cast is determined by rolling a table based on the number of Intelligence points expended.
Other items that are enchanted can let the user change their appearance, or even create an entirely new appearance. They can be especially useful for characters who have had to leave their home, or are in a situation where they may not be welcome. A magical item can give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible for everyone, except for the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are any equipment that does not fall into the categories of Armor or Clothing and are able to perform a variety of capabilities. They are not compatible with each other, in contrast to weapons or armor. The majority of utility items have a passive effect that the player can activate when using them. However, some have additional abilities that are activated by pressing a button, or by activating the skill.
Generally speaking, the most popular type of utility item is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to float in the air while they move, and the Jetpack, which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can instantly produce several useful items, while others are only available through research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to those that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded to allow more effective use.
The majority of utility items boost an individual combat ability or give the player some kind of advantage when it comes to navigation. Sharpening stones, created by a Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, created by a Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other utility items such as Writs or Theses made by the Scribe can be used to give players either a boost in Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single utility item to begin the campaign. An additional slot is available after completing certain engineering, research, or experimental projects on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be added by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This allows players to use the Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade is kept in the main slot.
