The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities in the overseas market and doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. The company saw North America as a growth market for Washlet's bidets and toilets, as opposed to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was recording Toto words to ensure the future generations could comprehend the words. However, many of the words were replaced with foreign ones, like dui, which is Bengali for verandah.
Origins
The company was founded in 1917 and its beginnings mirrored Japan's development. In the early years of its existence, the company manufactured goods to meet demand for modern, contemporary urban housing. It had the first tunnel kilns in the country to continuously produce ceramics. It also pioneered automation to allow production control, which allows for greater efficiency and consistency.
In the late 1980s the company began to expand outwards to take advantage of sales and new markets. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other products from other manufacturers in order to enhance its own range of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy boosted sales and expanded the firm's global market share.
In the late 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis to research and development of household appliances that are water-related. It also improved its system of distribution to better serve customers and boost profits. The company implemented a just-in-time method of managing supply chains and applied the same methodology in its sales strategy. This led to a higher level customer satisfaction.
Toto has continued to innovate on the toilet technology. Its latest toilet, for instance is equipped with an extremely powerful tornado flush that is more eco friendly than conventional toilets. The company makes use of recycled water in its manufacturing process, and has a green buying policy. Apart from toilets, Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in terms of energy consumption than standard models.
The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It features exhibits on Toto’s seminal products, their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics) as well as the history of plumbing, and even bath units. In an additional gallery, you can view Toto products sold all over. The museum also has a bathroom that includes the WASHLET toilet, as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before beginning the formation of Toto members of the group performed sessions for a variety of musicians. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich and guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather as well as drummer Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
It is common for a group with a name such as Asia to be a prog band however it's actually a pretty straightforward rock outfit. The band was initially a four-piece and released two albums in 1979, the self-titled debut album and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. However, even though the group have a wide range of musical backgrounds, their biggest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, however it did not come without its share of problems. Record companies put the band on position with the order "give us an album that's a smash or we'll drop you" and the pressure was on them to deliver. Toto was able to do this through the aid of the smash hit "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experience. Before joining the group, members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has since become the standard for pop music from the 1980s, and has influenced many modern artists.
The album starts out hard with tracks like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to create great AOR songs that slowly sink into your head. But the album also contains some more mellow, jazzy tracks, like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and the distorted AOR which could appear completely unnatural, but actually works extremely well.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes took a turn for the worse. David Hungate left the band to focus on his solo career. The band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in wake of drug charges and the band continued as a trio featuring Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation, which was not as successful as IV. The band was able to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was the first album featuring a new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was a return to a classic sextet structure and an even more consistent and powerful album with a sharper edge. The more edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the maturation in the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing ability to play was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work was more precise, sharper, and less derivative than previously recorded recordings.
After touring to promote their album, the band recorded an Amsterdam live performance which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. A new studio album was released just a few months later and the group went on a long-distance tour in support of it. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to discover songs that hadn't been recorded before. It was completed in the form of a double-album called Then and Now in 2001. It was the band's first album that did not contain the single track "A". The album also contained an previously unreleased track titled "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and singer Williams suffered from a bad case of laryngitis which limited his singing capabilities. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville, while drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes and the other members of Asia--Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened an event in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility of restructuring the band.
메이저사이트 , minus Howe (who was working with Yes at the time), eventually became known as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured a guest appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
