The model comes with an ice maker that can make fresh, clean ice in a matter of minutes. It's simple to use, as well. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
LG counter-depth fridges are compact and offer a lot of space. They're also priced more affordably than many standard-depth French door refrigerators and eliminate the need for a separate smaller under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView Counter-Depth Refrigerator (LMWC23626S) is a refrigerator that has the capacity of a standard refrigerator with an elegant and contemporary design, is no exception. It also features an internal dispenser that gives easy access to filtered drinking water.
This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins have plenty of space and the top shelf can be folded down to create a half depth shelf to accommodate taller items. The bottom of the refrigerator is stocked with crisper drawers, and the deli drawer with its full width is ideal for meat and fresh produce.
The refrigerator features a recessible icemaker on the back wall. This saves space and allows you to store more ice bags. The refrigerator uses door-cooling that makes use of vents in the doors of the fridge and freezer to let cold air enter the refrigerator. It helps to prevent hot spots and keeps temperatures more consistent throughout the refrigerator.
This LG refrigerator stood out during our tests. It provides plenty of space to provide for a family, however, we noticed a few unsettling flaws. First the freezer drawers don't stay at the temperature we'd like. The temperature of the middle drawer climbed to 41° during our maximum use test, which is sufficient to freeze ice cream and other frozen food items. The temperature in the rest of the freezer remained at about 36 degrees.
Another issue is that the refrigerator doors have handles that are sunken both on the inside and under, which make it hard for shorter people to comfortably close them. It might seem like a minor thing however we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators, as they are more convenient to open and close.
The refrigerator is pricey however it is worth it for those who want a sleek look in their kitchen. We recommend this refrigerator for those who want to upgrade their existing refrigerator or for those who are building a new house and want a more integrated look in the kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Samsung's newest counter-depth French-door fridge called the RF23M8090SG price tag is $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also did well in our cooling test, but we don't like the plastic handles or the plastic crisper bins.
One thing that sets the RF23M8090SG apart is the Bespoke line, which lets you customize your fridge by removing colored panels which can be swapped when you're tired of the current ones. There are 11 different colors to choose from that range from pastels to more bright colors. There are four metallic finishes. These panels can be customized to include photos or text. This will make the fridge more personal and can be matched to your Rick Owens dress, Andy Warhol banana neon, or tie-dye Crocs.
You can even change the color of the fridge's LED lighting, which is a nice touch. The interior of the refrigerator has a smart finish that helps reduce smudges and makes cleaning easier. The only real flaws of the RF23M8090SG are its cramped beverage center, and it takes some effort to open the door-indoor feature which houses a water dispenser as well as an ice maker. You have to feel for an unmarked lever on the underside of the door midway across, and once you have it, it opens another door inside the fridge that contains the pitcher docking station, the water dispenser and two shelves for drinks.
french door fridge freezers is large enough to store a lot frozen food items. It also has a slide-out drawer that allows you to access the food you want without having to open the entire compartment. There's also a butter-bin-style compartment inside the freezer that allows for simple storage of small items, and a drawer with a huge capacity that can hold larger frozen items. The drawer can be locked with an access code to keep intruders out and has an LED light that is handy to let you see what's inside at glance. The freezer can also track the energy consumption and help you reduce your energy bill by using the SmartThings Energy Mode.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators add a clean design to any kitchen, and they are suitable for different sizes of rooms. If you're looking for the convenience of this style without the additional height, a counter-depth refrigerator is the best choice. We've tested many of them, and this Frigidaire model has earned an above-average score in our ratings due to its reasonable price and thoughtful features, such as an adjustable temperature drawer.
However, it has a few minor problems. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF can get very hot often in the freezer and get uncomfortably hot in the innermost shelves of the refrigerator. This is evident in our heat maps, which show how the internal temperatures vary from minute to minute. The orange area in the top right, representing the butter bin, is especially warm throughout the time we tested. It might not seem to be a problem at first, but the fridge spends most of the time above 32 degrees.
It's also worth mentioning that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model, which could be a consideration for some buyers. The main issue is that the fridge isn't the best. It's not equipped with the latest features and a durable construction which makes it difficult to recommend it over more expensive models at this price.
In many ways, this Frigidaire feels like the stainless-steel version of a fridge you might see at your local appliance store. It's a good choice with a brushed finish that looks great and is impervious to smudges. However, it doesn't offer much to differentiate itself from rivals who are more feature rich and cost less.
If you're looking for a counter-depth french-door refrigerator but don't want to spend much, the FGHC2331PF could be worth looking into. It's big enough to meet the requirements of most families and does a great job of keeping food fresh. And even if it isn't an energy-efficient model, it won't have the same price tag the same amount as our top-rated models do.
