Macau's government collected less than $29.86 billion ($3.71 billion) in fiscal revenues from taxes on games in the first four months of 2024, the latest data released by the Macau Financial Services Bureau on Thursday showed.

So far this year, total tax revenue from these taxes is up 98.2% year-over-year.

In April this year alone, the government generated about $7.93 billion in gaming tax revenue, up 11.2% from the previous month.

Taxes from gaming accounted for 83.5% of Macau's government total revenue in the four months to April 30, with the latter approaching $35.77 billion.

Under Macau's 10-year game concession system, which took effect on January 1 last year, the effective tax rate on casino gross game revenue (GGR) is 40%.

Tax collection figures for a particular calendar period and casino GGR for that period are not directly comparable for many reasons. This includes the fact that there is typically a delay between when the GGR is recorded in Macau casino operations and when the Macau government registers as having paid taxes on the play. 파워볼사이트

Under the government's 2024 budget, game tax revenues are expected to reach about $83.61 billion this year. Imports in the first four months of the year amount to 35.7% of that figure.

In the full year of 2023, Macau authorities collected $65.26 billion in gaming tax revenue, achieving a surplus of 28.3% from gaming tax revenue set last year.
