The creators of the annual Gaming & Technology Conference announced today that Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is the recipient of the 3rd Larry Call Award for excellence and innovation in gaming technology.

The company will be honored at Game & Technology Conference 6.0 on November 9 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

"The way we develop our technology portfolio at Bogata highlights every aspect of our business, from the development and construction of properties, aggressive hiring efforts, and day-to-day operations of properties. High-performance technology is a competitive advantage we enjoy and supports the delivery of our customer service experience. We are proud to receive this award because the Larry Cole Award demonstrates our IT strategy."

David Farlin, Vice President of Information Technology, said, "We started with an aggressive plan for Borgata and the technology needed to support it. We are honored to receive this award in recognition of our commitments to technology and for fulfilling them. The award honors not only great IT staff, but also the vision, innovation, and efforts extended by regulators, vendors, partners, and even Larry Cole himself."

One of the first casino executives to lead the information technology department, Cole pioneered player tracking and loyalty programs that still exist in casinos around the world. He was president of advanced casino systems before being sold to volley gaming & systems. Cole, who died in 2002, received his first prize posthumously.

Founded as the first gaming conference to focus on technology issues, the forum allows industry leaders, regulators and suppliers to discuss how technology is shaping the future of casino floors and how the industry should respond.
