Man City are looking to transfer João Cancelo.

"Barcelona reportedly submitted a new proposal to João Cancelo after learning that Manchester City would take a reduction in transfer fees to complete the transfer," British media "Goldcom" reported on the 31st.

After joining Manchester City in 2019, Cancelo had taken the starting position due to his unique aggressiveness. Although he is still a Manchester City player, he transferred to Barcelona on loan this season. Cancelo expressed dissatisfaction that he was pushed out of the starting position for less than a month in the last season of Manchester City, and even threatened to transfer.     메이저사이트 Links to an external site.

There were even reports of arguments with the players, and even with Pep Guardiola, he argued and argued. Cancelo, who was a key resource for the team, eventually made a loan move to Germany's prestigious Bayern Munich during the second half of the transfer window in January 2023, showing signs of ruining the team's mood.

He scored once in 21 matches for Munich and won the Bundesliga trophy in the process. Last summer, there was a buyout clause that allowed him to sign Cancelo for just over 61 million pounds (about 109 billion won), but Munich did not do it and Cancelo returned to Manchester City.

However, Cancelo did not stay long with Manchester City as he made another loan move to Barcelona throughout the last season. For Barcelona, Cancelo scored four goals in 42 appearances and made it to the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 this summer as part of Portugal's national team, but lost to France.

Cancelo's contract is still three more years away, but it will be difficult to play for Manchester City again after the relationship with Guardiola is broken. According to media, Barcelona submitted an offer that included a £7 million loan and a £18 million purchase clause, which will take effect at the end of the loan period.

Manchester City would prefer to let Cancelo go on a permanent basis rather than sign another loan deal. However, with no other offers at the moment, Barcelona's offer may be the best option.

Cancelo is also reportedly willing to accept the offer, which is lower than the current 150,000 pounds per share. Barcelona is ready to pay him the full annual salary.

Barcelona are still the frontrunners in the bid for Cancelo, but other clubs are also showing interest. Juventus and Inter Milan are reportedly keeping an eye on the situation. Manchester City, however, are still pinning their hopes on the Saudi professional league's proposal to let the player go on a permanent basis this summer, with financial terms not an issue.
