Poker is the oldest known gambling game and dates back to over 2500 years back. The word poker, is derived from the game of solitaire it is believed to have roots going back about 1,100 years, at the age of ten, a Chinese Emperor is believed to play the game the first time. It was probably played as a game of strategy by elite teams of soldiers , politicians as well as scholars, merchants and other high-ranking people. Ancient Greeks and Romans were famous for their card games such as the game of solitaire, and also the game of craps. These games weren't played at a table, or using real money. The cards, referred to "kamis," were numbered one through twenty-one, and players were required to wager according to the order they laid the cards out. So, you could play the pot from one to twenty depending on the order the cards were laid out. If the player does not see his opponent fold or fold, he is able to keep betting until he realizes that the opponent has lost one of the cards. This is when he can stop betting and move the money to another place.

A similar kind of poker hands is the straight flush which is when players have a combination of all top cards (a flush) and any other cards that are not in straight line between him and his opponent. Straight flushes can be played live and can cause players to raise their bets for the entire hand. This is due to the fact that all cards are in straight lines. However, casual poker players are able to play Wild cards. They are identical to straight flushes however they contain the"W" in the middle "W".

A flush is the 3rd type of hand in poker. This means there are more cards in a pot that players. If a player wins a poker pot typically, he will take the pot of the opponent and adds it to himself. This makes the player believes that he holds the biggest hand winning the pot, and often leads to people getting more because they think the pot is bigger.
