Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority has appointed Joseph Hathson (pictured) as interim COO following the sudden resignation of current COO Jody Madigan.

"I have resigned since August 1, 2024, and I will take time off until I leave," Mr. Madigan said in a press release on Wednesday.

The company, which trades as Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, said Mr. Hason would also retain his current role as general manager of the Mohegan Casino at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada, "to get the necessary regulatory paperwork or approval."

In addition to its businesses in the U.S. and Canada, Mohegan also operates a resort with foreigner-only casinos in Incheon, South Korea.

The casino operator said Mr Hason was "a clear choice" for the company's management "given his prior experience" as former COO of Station Casino LLC and Red Rock Resorts Inc.

"Joe brings significant expertise to management with a consistent record of operational excellence and success with over 40 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality industries," the company said.

The new COO will report to Ray Pineault, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mohegan.

"Our deep understanding of the gaming and service industries has qualified us to maintain our high standards of service and operational excellence," Mr. Pino said in the release.

He added: "We are confident that Joe's extensive experience and proven leadership will ensure continuity in our operations and guest experience."

Mohegan announced last month that it has appointed Ari Glazer as the group's new chief financial officer, effective May 1, 2024.
