The Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) held a reward and punishment committee on OK Financial Group's Kwak Myung-woo's communication secret protection law and injury charges in the federation's conference room on the morning of the 31st.

After the recent report on the problem of Kwak Myung-woo, the federation identified the case accurately through OK Financial Group and players. As a result, it was confirmed that Kwak Myung-woo was sentenced to six months in prison and one year of probation for violating the Communications Secret Protection Act and causing injury. It was also further confirmed that the player was fined for violating the Road Traffic Act (Drinking Driving) in the past during the process of finding out the facts.

The reward and punishment committee attended Kwak Myung-woo and OK Financial Group clubs for in-depth discussions after listening to statements and clarifications, determined that the player's prison sentence was an act that undermined the dignity of the professional volleyball league, and decided to sanction similar violations to prevent recurrence.

However, the committee imposed a one-year suspension on Kwak Myung-woo, taking into account the fact that he deeply regretted and reflected on his wrongdoings and that he pleaded for the player to be punished as leniently as possible by agreeing with the victim in the court ruling.

Earlier, OK Financial Group traded with Hyundai Capital on the 19th of last month in exchange for middle blocker Cha Young-seok and the first round of the 2024-2025 rookie draft.

However, the trade was not disclosed to KOVO for nearly a month since the announcement of the trade, and the two teams agreed and requested the federation to withdraw the trade disclosure. OK Financial Group's club said it was aware of the fact during the player registration process. Hyundai Capital, which had tried to recruit Kwak to strengthen the setter, was also belatedly aware of the incident. In the end, Kwak was forced to take disciplinary action against the federation.토토사이트넷

Kwak Myung-woo, who was nominated by Rush & Cash (currently OK Financial Group) as the first choice in the second round of the 2013-2014 rookie draft, is a "one-club man" who played for only one team until the 2023-2024 season and played full-time in 34 games last season. He played the role of a setter faithfully, recording 1,324 set successes and 10.508 set per set, contributing greatly to the team's second place in the championship game.
