Jake Ferro, a 32-year-old poker player from Syracuse, N.Y., won the World Poker Tour Season XIX Player of the Year award in the final game of the season, beating members of the WPT Champions Club by a wide margin.
"The WPT Player of the Year race has begun and Jake's determination in the final event makes him a fantastic winner," said Adam Pliskar, CEO of the World Poker Tour. "Closing off Season XIX has been an exciting way to go and has definitely raised the bar for what will be a historic 20th anniversary season."
Ferro competed in three WPT matches for the season XIX. Ferro finished second to Gediminas Uselis at the Seminole Rock 'N' Roll Poker Open in November, beating 1,564 other entries. The results showed Ferro earning $573,605 and 1,200 POY points and a further 300 points at No. 14 at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December at Bellagio Hotels & Casino, rising to the top of the leaderboard.
"I'm excited to win the WPT Player of the Year award for Season XIX and I'm definitely looking forward to playing more World Poker Tour games in 2022," Perot said. "It would have been a dream come true to have my name engraved in the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup, but coming this close makes me even hungrier for the upcoming season."
Along with the title, Perot also won $15,000 worth of WPT Passports for all season XX events. He will also receive VIP treatment throughout the upcoming season, with free accommodation and ground transportation at the WPT Main Tour event.
Rock Gostisa, Chad Evelage, and Brian Altman all tied for second place. Gostisa, who won the WPT World Online Championship Main Event last September, took third place, while she was the official runner-up after earning the most money among the three. Gostisa earned $7,500 in WPT passports and Evelage left with $2,500 in passports.
Albert Knafo won the WPT DeepStacks North American Player of the Year for his victory at the WPT DeepStacks Venetian in July. Knafo received the $10,000 WPT Passport, which can be used for any WPT event around the world. Albert Shainiuk won the $3,500 WPT Passport, just 50 points behind Knafo, and Jason Young won the $1,500 WPT Passport in third place. 슬롯사이트 추천
