Slate shingles are believed to be an investment. Another indication of the necessity to replace your roof is if a lot more than 20 percent of your slate shingles are either missing, broken, or did not pass the knuckle test. You can repair them, but you will end up paying more in the long run. The rest of the slates will deteriorate and cause another shingles to dislodge or be damaged.

If your roof is properly maintained, you can find less likelihood of needing replacement. If it is time to replace your roof, always make sure to hire a skilled roofer.
