Lee Jung-hoo started as the first hitter in the 2024 U.S. Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals home game at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California on the 9th (Korea time) and played 2 hits, 1 walk, and 1 point in 3 times at bat.

Lee's batting average for this season increased from 0.205 to 0.238 (10 hits in 42 times at bat). He also elevated his on-base percentage to 0.306 from 0.267, and his slugging percentage to 0.333 from 0.282.

There was a hit from the first at-bat.

Lee Jung-hoo appeared as the leadoff hitter in the bottom of the first inning and made a left-handed hit by pushing Washington right-handed sidearm Trevor Williams's fifth changeup of 130 kilometers per hour in a ball count of 1-2 strikes.

After one out, he also scored his fourth point of the season by stepping home on a double that fell in front of left field by Lermont Wade Jr.

After reaching third base on Wade Jr.'s slow hit, Lee took advantage of Washington left fielder Jesse Winker's one-bound throw that second baseman Luis Garcia Jr. dropped. The official record is a run scored due to Winker's throwing error.

Lee Jung-hoo, who was also the leadoff hitter in the third inning, hit Williams' fastball of 143km/h in a ball count of 2 balls-2 strikes and sent a 158km/h ball toward left field.

Winker threw himself, but the ball landed first on the ground.

Lee Jung-hoo ran to second base and made his first MLB double.

Lee Jung-hoo, who hit his first home run against the San Diego Padres on March 31, hit his second long hit and his 10th in the MLB.

Lee Jung-hoo had his third MLB multi-hits after the game against San Diego on March 30 (2 hits in five at-bats) and the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 2.

It is also encouraging that Lee Jung-hoo, who has struggled with frequent "groundball hits," has increased the "launch angle."

Before the game, Lee Jung-hoo's average launch angle was 4.1 degrees, lower than MLB's average of 12.2 degrees.

However, Lee produced two hits on the day, making 10 degrees in the first inning and 17 degrees in the third inning.

In the fifth inning, Lee Jung-hoo drew his fifth walk in the MLB.

Lee Jung-hoo completed his second "third base game" after the game against San Diego (no hits and three walks in two at-bats) on April 1st, as he chose a walk following a multi-hit game.

In the last at-bat in the seventh inning, Lee Jung-hoo grounded out to second base.

He also shone in defense.

In the top of the eighth inning, Trae Lipscomb's heavy hit came out with one out and first base, and Lee Jung-hoo, who caught the ball, caught Vargas with Ildemaro, who was heading to third base with a quick and accurate throw.

It was a good defense to make up for the mistake of allowing a hit by missing the batting position of the missed fly ball by San Diego on the 7th.

Despite Lee Jung-hoo's offense and defense performance, San Francisco lost 1-8 to Washington.

Blake Snell, who took the mound for the first time since moving to San Francisco, suffered a loss by allowing three hits and three runs in three innings.
