Professional baseball SSG Landers' new foreign pitcher Robert Dugger (28) showed off a variety of pitches in his first live pitching of spring camp.

SSG said on the 15th, "On the 14th (local time), pitchers including Dugger held a live pitch against batters at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Biro Beach, Florida, USA."

On this day, Dugger threw 27 balls, including fastballs, sliders, curves, sinkers, and sweepers.

The fastball velocity reached a maximum of 149 km/h and an average speed of 147.1 km/h.

Dugger said, “It was good to be able to check my condition by facing an actual batter, and my physical condition is perfect. 파워볼

I am satisfied with my overall control, but there are things I need to improve on, such as my slide step, so I will prepare well until the next pitch.”

SSG pitching coach Bae Young-soo said, “Dugger has a good deception move (hiding the ball) and has a high level of perfection in his breaking balls.”

He added, “Batterers who faced Dugger said they were impressed by the type of curve that is difficult to find in Korea.

Breaking balls are difficult to deal with.

He evaluated, “It has.”

Robert Dugger was born in Arizona, USA, and after graduating from Texas Tech University, he joined the Seattle Mariners of the American professional baseball team as the 537th overall pick in the 18th round in 2016.

He debuted in the major league wearing a Miami Marlins uniform in 2019, but his stay in the big league was short.

Dugger's career records in the Major League are 27 games (13 starts), 7 losses, and an average ERA of 7.17.

He did not reach the big league mound last year.

In the minor leagues, he consistently appeared as a starter.

Dugger's career minor league records are 154 games (127 as a starter), 39 wins, 42 losses, 4 saves, and an ERA of 4.21.

His Triple A career record is 75 games, 15 wins, 22 losses, and an ERA of 5.25.

SSG recruited Dugger in November of last year and expected, "Dugger is a complete pitcher who throws a powerful fastball and uses various breaking balls such as changeups and curves with perfection."

First of all, in spring training, Dugger is throwing fastballs and various breaking balls.

Second-year foreign pitcher Roenis Elias also took the mound that day and threw 31 balls, using a combination of fastballs, sliders, and changeups.

The highest speed of the fastball was 146.2 km/h.

Elias said, "Unlike last year, when I focused on velocity, I plan to make a change this year.

There were positive results in this pitching, and I want to show a good performance this season."

Oh Won-seok recorded a top speed of 144.9 km/h in live pitching.

He checked his fastball, slider, curve, and changeup.

He said, "I tried to check what I had planned during the camp period," and "It was good to be able to check how batters reacted by throwing fastballs and breaking balls that I had prepared.

I want to increase my strike rate next time I pitch."

Coach Bae said, "Wonseok checked the breaking ball he prepared during the camp and showed good performance.

In addition, his overall balance and pitch content were good, and he plans to prepare things to improve until the next pitching."

The SSG club installed timers behind the catcher and on the center outfield fence to allow pitchers to experience the pitch clock that the KBO League is piloting in the first half of the year.

By checking the tracking data, batters felt the difference between the strike zone judged by humans and the zone judged by machines.

The KBO League will introduce the Automatic Ball Decision System (ABS) from the opening game this year.
