Amid the shock aftermath of the elimination of the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup, Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich) also bowed his head, following Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) and Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton).

The South Korean national soccer team, led by head coach Klinsmann, was eliminated in the semifinals of the Asian Cup in Qatar and tried to win for the first time in 64 years since the 1960 tournament, but failed. Although it performed better than the elimination of the quarterfinals of the 2019 tournament, it was eliminated after repeatedly playing a poor game even with the golden generation of Son Heung-min, Kim Min-jae, and Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain).

In response, Kim Min-jae shared his thoughts on the Asian Cup through his social media (SNS) on the 9th. "We didn't get the results that everyone wanted. I'm sorry that we couldn't show you as good as our fans supported us," he said.

"I'm sorry and grateful to the players, coaching staff, and fans who always supported me during the long tournament," said Kim Min-jae, who said, "As a player who plays on behalf of the country, I feel a great responsibility and I feel that I need to improve the more I play for the national team."

He then said, "I will try to produce as many results as you support me. Thank you for your support during the tournament."

Earlier, Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan also apologized on their SNS.

"As a captain, I didn't think I was good enough and I didn't think I was able to lead the team well. I was so proud of myself as a Korean soccer player because (the fans) gave me so much love and support despite this situation. Thank you and I'm sorry," Son said in an apology.

On the same day, Hwang Hee-chan also wrote on social media, "I wanted to show you a good performance as a result of the victory, but I don't think it helped me a lot at the most important moment, so I think I'm sorry and I'm sorry."

In the meantime, Klinsmann looked leisurely nonetheless. After returning to Korea on Tuesday evening, Klinsmann arrived at the airport waving to fans with his signature smile and said at a press conference, "Since I served as the national team for a year until the quarterfinal match, I have had no loss in 13 consecutive matches. I had many good things to say. I cannot say that it is a failure given that I have advanced to the semifinals," he said, without expressing self-reflection or self-reflection.
