Ahn Byung-hoon is 8th, the only Korean player in the top 10

Rory McIlroy Northern Ireland has become the "long hitter king" of the PGA Tour for the 2022-2023 season. Golf Channel, a golf media outlet, reported on Monday that McIlroy topped the list this season with an average driving distance of 326.3 yards about 298 meters. Among Korean players, Ahn ranked eighth with an average driving distance of 315.6 yards about 289 meters, making him top 10.

McIlroy is also called "wee" because he is small 175 centimeters tall and weighs 73 kilograms for a professional golfer. However, he boasts long-distance shots with his neat swing form. McIlroy, who debuted on the PGA Tour in 2009, has become the fourth golfer in his career to rank No. 1 in driving distance since the 2017-2018 season. He was listed in top five in long-distance shots a total of nine times, including the second in last season.

McIlroy was named fourth among the 25 people who had the biggest impact on golf in 2023 selected by ESPN, a U.S. sports media. "McIlroy had a pretty good year on the golf course by winning the DP World Tour Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January and the Genesis Scottish Open in July," ESPN said. "After the announcement of the merger between PGA Tour and LIV Golf, he made headlines outside the stadium by saying that he felt like a sacrificed lamb."

ESPN ranked PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan as No. 1 and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, president of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund that sponsors LIV, as No. 2. Jon Rahm Spain, who became a newsmaker after recording the most wins four wins in this season's PGA Tour, recently moved to LIV, took the third place. The fifth place was Tiger Woods U.S., the "golf emperor."  토토사이트
