Perini Building Co., a subsidiary of Perini, celebrated this on June 7 by placing the resort's flagship hurricane palm tree and the last beam in a 42-story hotel tower atop the Palms Casino Resort.

Based on this construction milestone, Farms Casino Resort, worth $255 million, is operating on a budget and schedule.

"We plan to deliver the project this December as promised," said Pat Hubbs, project manager at Perini Building Co.

The resort covers 22.5 of the 32 acres of land it is located on. Once completed, about 60,000 cubic yards of concrete will be poured out. This is the equivalent of an 18-mile walkway five feet wide, or enough concrete to pack both sides of this strip three times.

The hotel tower contains 455 large rooms and suites. Other buildings under construction include multi-purpose entertainment facilities, 14 theaters and IMAX theaters, seven restaurants, 10,000 square feet of banquet and conference facilities, and 18,000 square feet of spas and salons
